Painting a plaster cast is traditionally used by artists as a way of practicing figurative and portrait art to hone in on their drawing and painting skills. This painting of a plaster cast bust and head shows the difference in warm and cool tones and allows the artist to focus on form and values i.e. difference in light and dark areas, before they move onto colour. This painting of a plaster cast head is a romantic and traditional nod to the way artists perfect their craft and a fine classical addition to any interior and especially those who are in appreciation of classic artistic processes.
